Mandates and remits enabling people and organisations to participate in care
- care mandate
  mandate based on a commitment and either an informed consent or an authorization by law defining the rights and obligations of one care actor with regard to their involvement in care processes performed for a specific subject of care

  acceptance of a care request including commitment by the care actor to perform requested care activities

  permission to perform care activities, voluntarily given by a subject of care with consent competence or by a subject of care proxy with consent competence after having been informed about the purpose and the possible results of the care activities

Note 1 to entry: The care commitment is the promise by the care actor to perform care activities. This also means that the care provider accepts and confirms the pending care mandate issued through the proposed care plan It is only once the care commitment has been stated that an effective care mandate exists and will be the legal framework for all care activities of the subsequent care process

Note 2 to entry: Implicitly, a care commitment results from a dialogue with the subject of care or someone on behalf of the subject of care within a care needs assessment
